World Theatre Education Alliance 2019 International Theatre Festival Closed Successfully
On the evening of October 20th, 2019, the closing ceremony of World Theatre Education Alliance 2019 International Theatre Festival was held at the Proscenium Stage Theatre in Changping Campus of the Central Academy of Drama, China. The Judging Panel, teachers and students from the member schools joined the closing ceremony presided by Associate Professor Dong Bingyu, from the Department of Film and Television Art. The President of Party Committee of academy, Xu Xiang, attended the closing ceremony with his assistant Chen Lei, as well as the head of the judge panel, Chen Gang.
There were totally 9 performances of Shakespeare's comedy and 8 workshops in this theatre festival. The professors and students from different countries shared their training methods and theatrical theories in the workshops, which helped deepen the feeling, liberate the nature, develop the thought, and stimulate the beginning of new friendship. In the performances, the participants expressed their profound and brilliant national culture in the particular form of theatre. They focused on the contemporary reality and innovated bravely, making the classical theatre productions another enjoyment to the audience.
In the closing ceremony, the song "Gras" from the students of University of Performing Arts Ernst Busch, Germany and the traditional song from Russia made the audience feel the enthusiasm and the level of vocal music from member schools. After that there was a solo by student from Chung-Ang University Department of Theatre, Korea and the show of national dance by students from Kyiv National I.K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema and Television. In the end, it was the performance by students from the department of Peking Opera and the Bon-adori by Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music, Japan. The audience responded with their warm applause.
Best Acting Award, Outstanding Acting Award and Best Stage Performance Award were set in the Festival. The judge panel consists of 12 judges from 11 countries. Professor Chen Gang, from The Central Academy of Drama, China, read the winners list. The Judges of the Festival awarded the prize to winners. The President of Party Committee in The Central Academy of Drama, Xu Xiang, awarded the Best Stage Performance Award. The ceremony came to an end in a warm atmosphere of exchanges between teachers and students from various countries.
