World Theatre Education Alliance 2017 International Theatre Festival closed successfully
On the evening of October 25th, 2017, the closing ceremony of World Theatre Education Alliance 2017 International Theatre Festival was held at the Proscenium Stage Theatre in Changping Campus of the Central Academy of Drama, China. The Judging Panel, teachers and students from the member schools joined the closing ceremony presided by Associate Professor Li Hong, deputy director of the Acting Department from the Central Academy of Drama, China.
A total of nine theatre workshops were held and nine "King Lear" plays were presented in WTEA 2017 International Theatre Festival. In the workshops, teachers and students actively communicated and interacted with each other. Theatre educations from different cultures and regions have been thoroughly integrated and enhanced. During the performances, teachers and students actively explored the theatrical forms and thoughts with unique theatre vocabulary and theatre culture of various nationalities.
At the awarding ceremony, the solo song -"I Will Prevail" by the students of Musical Theatre Department created a lively atmosphere and a sense of competition tension. The modern dance "Backlight", which was splendidly interpreted by students of the Dance Theatre Department, encouraged the students to look for theatre dream in their hearts and stick to it all the way. Finally, the chorus song "I Have a Dream" by the teachers and students of Western Opera Department, spurred generations of theatre people to pursue their dreams and never stop.
Best Acting Award, Outstanding Acting Award and Best Stage Performance Award were set in the Festival. Professor Hao Rong, Secretary-General of World Theatre Education Alliance and vice president of the Central Academy of Drama, China, read the winners list. The Judges of the Festival awarded the prize to winners. The ceremony came to an end in a warm atmosphere of exchanges between teachers and students from various countries.
